The laser penetrates the skin’s surface to reach the hair roots. The light energy is absorbed by the melanin in the hair shaft and surrounding tissues, converting it into heat. This process raises the temperature of the hair growth structure, leading to thermal damage.
When the temperature reaches a level sufficient to cause irreversible damage to the structure responsible for hair growth, the hair eventually undergoes natural physiological processes, resulting in hair loss.
